Brighton Trafalgar is not my first attempt at secondary terminus, one which was abandoned fairly early on was based on Holborn Viaduct on the SE&CR:

This was an attempt to build a layout using available RTR SE&CR rolling stock and Peco Bullhead track:

I managed to get a folding fiddle-yard completed fairly early on:

The major problem I encountered was that the only commercially available pointwork in Peco Bullhead at the time as a plain turnout, so I needed to hand-lay a three-way into a diamond crossing into a double-slip:

This would be a tall order in any scale or gauge, but I had strong reluctance to hand-built to 00 gauge standards, and so the project stalled and was abandoned and the (now very pricey) SE&CR stock sold in favour of a return to something more modest in Hennock.
My only satisfaction from this whole affair was that the baseboards went to Albion Yard and form the superstructure of Shelfie3:
